Welcome
Thanks to everyone who produced and got involved and attended LaborTech 2006. This was an exciting conference and we will be displaying conference video here soon.
I was happy to attend and meet many people who I knew online or have heard about. Congrats on putting together a good conference and a weblog! :-)
The thing I am really excited about is the collaborative space known as wiki. Please check out UnionWiki.org which is at the AboutUs wiki until enough people are interested in migrating it to its own space on the internet. (at AboutUs there is also a wiki page for LaborTech.net for folks to use and play with.)
Again, good to meet folks and look forward to seeing you all next year, or on the wiki!
The purpose of LaborTech is to bring together labor video, computer and media activists in the US and from around the world to build and develop labor communication technology and media. The first conference was held in 1990 and they have been held throughout the United States as well as Canada and Russia. Labor Media conferences are also held in Seoul. We believe that a critical task for labor is building a labor communication media movement that can tell our stories and break the corporate information blockade in every corner of the world.
